Dreams Are Mean

Recently my dreams have been very cruel to me. Yesterday I dreamt that my sister way casting a fishing rod in the house and inadvertently snagged my arm with it and then proceeded to reel it in quite a bit. Trying to get it out resulted in the gross mutilation of my hand.

Then today I had a relatively bizarre dream. However, it did include a very cute women who I apparently knew for quite some time and we had a first kiss worthy of being adapted into a Hollywood feature film. And then I woke up. What kind of freaky imagination provides you with a back story to make you have a crush on a dream person, then shows you the dream person likes you as well, and then wakes you up to realize none of it was real?

Seriously, Dreams what the hell is wrong with you? Making me witness the painful mutilation of a body part due to my sister's incompetence with a fishing pole, only to wake me up freaked out and slightly afraid to go back to bed is one thing. But trying to break my heart? That is just plain mean.

Either my subconscious is a well meaning child who is incompetently trying to spice things up, or just a malicious asshole. Only time will tell.I have two comics sketched out, but I won't be able to finish them up until I finish this CPR certification class. So until then enjoy this doodle telling you the differences between porpoises and dolphins.

  1. I hate to be insensitive to what was obviously a very frightening dream, but I can't help but laugh at the thought of your sister going fishing inside the house and catching you. She must know how to reel 'em in huh? XD

  2. You give her far too much credit. She wasn't in the house fishing, she was in the house dinking around with a fishing rod like a drunken codger in a fishing town...which is just a recipe for disaster.

Aren't fishing metaphors primarily used for subjects of romance? Eewww, gross misuse of punage. 50 points from Gryffindor.

  3. Your monopoly on humor is going to backfire one of these days. And I'll be there to laugh at you when it does.

  4. I'm not even sure I understand what that means...but if the backfire of my so-called "monopoly of humor" causes you to laugh can it really be considered a backfire?
