Hello everyone! Happy Bonus Froggy Day! I still plan on doing a massive comic splurge on Saturday, but I couldn't help but create a little something for a holiday such as the extra day of the leap year. So after my class ended I putzed around on the computers in the library for a while when I suddenly decided that I must make a Leap Year card. At this point there was about 30-40 minutes to spare until I had to go catch my ride back to campus. I'm proud to say that I managed to sketch, ink, scan, upload, download, clean up, color, format, print, upload again, cut and mail this little card within that time frame. Sure I had to sacrifice quality, but hey better something than nothing am I right?
Alrighty I'm going togo eat something and then I think I just might bake a cake to celebrate the occasion.

Argh Sorry
Sorry dear readers, but I won't be updating a comic today. A combination of not getting a chance to take a shower today and a sparring session in Taekwon-do has left me feeling grody to the extreme. Plus I also have to do some Japanese homework and study for a chemistry test for tomorrow. So I really don't think it would be a great idea for me to stay here at the library until I've finished drawing it just so I can scan it. To make up for my episodes of laze recently expect a spree of comics and other stuff over the weekend.
Sorry again!
Sorry again!
Sickness 02/27/08
Everyone around here is getting sick, was just sick, is sick...you get the drift.
Today I've realized a couple things.
1)When hanging out with friends having to go upload your comic for the day is a perfect way to have an excuse for leaving so you don't have to wait until you're politely told to leave
2)A good 25-30% of the words that come out of my mouth don't make any sense
Now if you'll excuse me I should start my long walk for it seems my lollygagging has caused me to miss the last bus home. Thus a walk in the dark as I sing songs to myself to pass the time is my fate. Sadly I don't know many songs.

Prep Day
Guess who's getting a pager tomorrow because the comic creator got lazy? YOU ARE! Aren't you excited? You lucky ducks you. Today was a string of bad luck for me and I just wanted to get off campus as quick as possible. I wanted to do a comic, I had a comic in mind, but I just couldn't bring myself to stay on campus for that long in order to use the scanner. So sorry about that everyone. To make up for it, I won't deprive you of content. Here is a picture I did in Japan. It taught me the important lesson that Japanese watercolors suck to a degree that is hard to put into words. Thus the shitty coloring on this thing.

All Night 02/25/08
When you're about to go to bed and you happen to check your schedule and realize that the paper you have to write is due tomorrow morning and not in 3 days like you had previously thought...it is not pleasant.
The paper was for Japanese class and it had to be on the subject of marriage. Seriously I don't have a couple pages worth of things to say about marriage in English let alone Japanese. So I did what I usually do in such circumstances and tried to make the project interesting enough to get me to do it. Thus I did indeed write my essay from the point of view of a 400 pound DBZ nerd who wants to marry a robot in the future, because no regular woman will have him. There was a bit at the end of the project description that said how important being original and interesting was...well, I think I got that part covered.

Pittles 02/22/08
EDIT: Found this laying around and figured I throw them up here for fun. Here is what this looked like after scanning.
And here it is after I inked it. I didn't erase the pencil because I wanted to see what coloring over pencil would look like.
-------------------------
Yeah I'm a little late. I got distracted by the quality that is Teen Titans.
But seriously, if there was a product that let me pee rainbow colors I would be all over that. Think of me what you may.

Brain Error 02/21/08
Yeah, so I still haven't posted the one I said I was going to, but I got this idea yesterday after experiencing it (one of the reasons yesterday sucked) and then the brains turned out too cute and I had to do it.
I can't really express just how pleased those brains make me. Especially yawning brain. In the original version errored brain was getting shot in the head by the word "test" and there was no other text, but I decided that didn't work right. Overall I'm super pleased. My only biff is with my inability to draw the same thing multiple times. Damn you giant head in panel 4!

Today Sucks 02/20/08
So I was planning on posting the other comic today, but today was shitty and I don't feel like rewarding shitty days with cool comics so I did this one instead.
This came from earlier today when my friend Ana said, "How's it going?" And I replied "Oh, Pretty Good." Then immediately thought to myself, "Why on Earth did I say that? Today is a horrible day"
I will admit that the Lunar Eclipse was pretty awesome and was the one of the few things that I liked about today.

We Shall See
Hmmm...I'm really not sure if I'll get a comic up today. I've got a fair amount of work left to do on it and a big test tomorrow. If it is any consolation I've finished the pencils and it looks quite nice. I might just end up posting that and then ink and color it for tomorrow. The reason it is taking me longer than usual is because I did a full page this time. This little test has taught me that I could do one of a number of things.
1 An inked and possibly colored strip every day
2 A penciled full page every day
3 An inked and colored full page on MWF
I'm still trying to figure out what would work best to get the correct amount of both practice and quality. We shall see.

Hobo Tips 02/18/08
Well not as done as I'd like it to be, but GIMP was being a little jerky poo head and I decided to just go with what I've got. In case it isn't obvious the 4 strategies for effective Hobo Marketing are:
1: Tap into the nerd market
2: Get Sponsored
3: Riverdance
4: Hugs
Big shout out to Max who worked with me on this one.

Say What?
Hmmm...I'm not sure why, but I'm not liking the art for a lot of the strips I've done so far. Looking back I'm not sure why some of them are so sub par. Time constraints? Laze? Who knows. I mean here is a page of my sketch book that a drew while half my attention was on watching cartoons.
You'd think something I had the whole day to do would be better. I'm toying with the idea of doing pages instead of strips. Strips are a lot of fun to do, but it's people who do full pages that I really look up to. The only thing is I like the idea of having to put out something everyday. I certainly doubt my ability to do a full page a day, especially without a scanner, because I spend quite a lot of time at the library already trying to get stuff done to scan. Maybe I could take two days to do a page and then put them up on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and then do simple strips on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I'm not really sure. I'll put some work into it and try to figure it out. But until I do you can still expect a new strip up on weekdays. Monday being my triumphant return from my Valentine break.

Happy Valentines Day: Part 2
Another one done. It might be the last one I'll be able to do for a bit. I need to go take a shower and get ready to go to work, but I've still got 3 or so more to finish so V-Day isn't over just yet.
A Captain Planet one this time. That Ma-Ti kid totally got the Captain Planet shaft with that Heart power. Seriously, they tried to make it sound cool, but it just wasn't.
Happy Valentines Day!
Well it's been awhile without an update, but I've just finished the first half of my store-bought style handmade valentines.
First up is a Ghostwriter themed one. It is really hard to think of something to do for something as odd as Ghostwriter, but I figured that something that involved reading and those notebooks the kids were always writing in would work.
Then next are my The Weekenders ones! You just gotta love Tino, Lor, Tish and Carter.
Because a lot of people have never seen the show before, here is what you need to know to understand the cards:
* They end every show by saying "Later days"
*Carter has horrible handwriting
I'll put the other ones up once I've finished coloring them.

Valentine Sidetrack
So I was working on the Friday's comic over the weekend and decided to take a little break to do some doodling, which in turn lead to me trying some new things in my art, which turned out looking really good, a fact that lead me to drawing all weekend and ignoring comics. Sorry about that.
I just thought I should warn you all that there will be no comics this week. I'm using the time I would normally use for comics and turning its attentions to valentines. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for those corporate valentine cards for kids. They are just so wonderfully dorky. I mean they'll have a picture of The Joker and it will read something like "It's no joke, you're my valentine." It takes a great writer to come up with that kind of cheese. Well anyway I've got like 12-16 of these that I want to draw. I'm trying to go with 4 per chosen cartoon, but at the moment the only cartoons I've decided on are Captain Planet and The Weekenders (I'm currently addicted to The Weekenders, by the way).
Anyway writing, drawing, inking, and coloring take up a fair amount of time so hopefully I'll get them done on time. I shall post them when I've finished, although I have my doubts that the members of the older generation who read this blog will actually get the jokes, but nevertheless.
Peace out folks

Yes, I'm Aware
Yeah, I know Friday's comic still hasn't shown up. I was originally going to do something quick and simple, but then I got some good ideas from Max and started liking it, so I figure I might as well do it right. As per usual you can expect a bonus strip. In fact this time the bonus strip is an idea submitted by an Excuse the Quality fan. Who? Well, I suppose you'll just have to wait to find out.
Speaking of which if you have an idea you'd like to turn into a strip, and for some reason don't think you can do it yourself, feel free to send it in. Lord knows I have enough late strips that will require bonus strips to make up for it.

Magarine 02/07/08
Well here is the one that was supposed to be up yesterday. I threw in some color for the hell of it. I heard about the margarine thing in Chemistry and it amused me to no end. "Margarine! Less saturated fat than butter, talk about healthy. Wait...what? Trans-fat? Trans-fats are worse than saturated fats you say? Oh...bugger."
Claw 02/06/08
So guess what? This isn't today's comic, today's comic is sitting in my sketch book unscanned, because once again the people in the library are so freaking high they can't realize that the one highly obvious computer that's hooked up to a scanner shouldn't be used for writing your paper for class. For the love of God people, how stupid can people get. I really like today's comic! I thought to myself, "Damn, this totally makes up for yesterday's garbage". But now it can't go up on time.
Whatever. Today is rainy and I'm wet and not pleased. This comic is one I wasn't going to put up because it references LC news which most of my readers here wouldn't get. Basically RAs (Resident Assistants) are now called CLAs (Community Living Assistants), which sounds a little bit too much like an evil organization when you pronounce it "claw".

Remarkable Achievement 02/04/08
I don't care what the time stamp on this post says it would have been up with some time to spare, but NOOOO! Windows had to be a dick and refuse to upload my image, so I had to boot into Linux.
Well whatever. This one took me a bit longer than usual because I tried inking it on the computer to see what that was like. Turns out I don't like it as much and it is a lot harder. But since I was already using Gimp I threw in some colors, so that worked out ok.

Stupid People Love Scanners
So I wasn't able to scan my comic in because some bastard was using the scanner and I had to leave to catch my ride, but I did draw it and it does exist. I'll scan it when I'm at work tomorrow and also put up a bonus In-color Saturday pic to make up for the wait.
A Public Service Announcement:
If you aren't actively using the scanner, don't be on the scanning computer. It's just good manners.
